Amazing Discoveries is seeking a chef or head cook to oversee the daily food preparation at the ministry. They will direct kitchen staff and handle any food-related concerns.

Will be required to cook daily for staff of 40, mission school students for periods of the year (3 meals, up to 70 people), and special occasions
3 years work experience with references
A demo will be required as part of the interview process, cooking with samples to taste

Duties & Responsibilties
- Check freshness of food and ingredients
- Supervise and coordinate activities of food preparation workers
- Cook food for 2 meals / day for approximately 50 people and ensure healthfulness of food being served
- May occasionally develop recipes and determine how to present the food
- Plan menus and ensure quality of meals
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
- Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
- Monitor and maintain sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards
- Present recipes on ADtv
- Teach and coordinate cooking classes for public
Requirements
- must be familiar with vegan cooking and be able to produce a large variety of meals including desserts, salads, soups, entrees, vegetables, bean dishes and more
- must be familiar with the health aspects of veganism as defined by Ellen G. White and the Bible
- familiarity with the body, and the effect of food and nutrients on the body
- Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
- Able to present concepts and recipes to an audience
- Vehicle & driver's license required
