Status: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours a week)

Seeking a Computer Network Technician to join our team. 

Job Description:
The Computer Network Technician is responsible for maintenance of computer networking and data
operations, including installing, configuring, operating and maintaining systems of hardware and
networking software composing Ministry’s infrastructure, in particular: networking and maintenance of
the web server, internal servers, storage units and networking equipment to always optimize network
connectivity and high-speed performance.

The Computer Network Technician reports to the Network Administrator and/or the Operations Director

Responsibilities:
● Ensure that all departments have adequate hardware and software to perform necessary networking
functions.
● Set up and maintain internet/network connectivity for website functionality and optimization.
● Manage hardware and updates to hardware in an organized fashion for accounting purposes.
● Ensure data operation and ensure data backup for the Ministry and the website is done according to
Ministry protocol to always achieve optimum backups (one off-site with multiple versions).
● Evaluate and secure hardware functionality, networking software, operating system and data
recovery by working with team to secure against internal and external threats including fire,
damage, electrical charge, theft, etc.
● Periodically perform web server cleaning and network maintenance and work with team to ensure
backups are properly created and the server is not running out of storage space.
● Monitor storage space and add more as needed.
● Manage and maintain networking/connectivity of phone systems
● Provide professional and courteous assistance to all employees throughout the workday to ensure
smooth running of computer network and connectivity among teams.
● Develop, implement and maintain policies and step-by-step procedures for computer
networking/connectivity and work with teams to maintain/troubleshoot and administer network to
achieve optimum electronic data processing and computer systems development and operations
● Monitor network and backups on internal servers and cloud -- ensure servers always have adequate
storage space.
● Maintain the backup system and be ready to restore/troubleshoot any part of the networking
infrastructure and network connectivity to run our systems
● Manage and maintain websites connectivity and domains
● Assist with network administration of user permissions and setup, as well as email administration
and blog accounts
● Ensure computer network functionality for administration of translation resources available on
Ubuntu through FTP and FTP user accounts
● Maintain and repair any connectivity issues for computer network, workstation and perform
hardware and networking software troubleshooting if needed
● Negotiate service terms with network providers as necessary
● Continue self-development in areas that are useful to the Ministry
● Manage networking/connectivity of Yealink phone system
● Meet with clients to discuss computer networking and system requirements, specifications, costs
and timelines
● Assist with and suggest budget and expenditures for computer networking, technical requirements
related to any projects
● Other duties and/or technical assignments as required.

Qualifications and Experience:
 Diploma in information technology and information systems
 At least 5 years of experience in information technology project management and network
administration for medium to large organizations

Shortlisted candidates must meet a minimum of 80% score on in-house IT Test to be considered
